CHOCOLATE CAKE SPONGE:

Ingredients:

- 1 cups all-purpose flour

- 3/4 cup granulated sugar

- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

- 1 teaspoon baking soda

- 1/2 teaspoon salt

- 1 cup milk

- 1/3 cup vegetable oil

- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

- 1/2 cup milk powder

Instructions to prepare the cake:

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan and cover it with parchment paper.

2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, milk powder, baking soda and salt.

3. Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour in the milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract.

4. Stir the wet and dry ingredients together until well combined and no lumps remain.

5. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top with a spatula.

6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

7. Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10-15 minutes.

8. Carefully transfer the cake to a wire rack to cool completely before frosting or serving.

Note: You can frost the cake with your favorite frosting or enjoy it plain for breakfast or evening tea.
